Type Rating Instructor Course(TRI/SFI) and
Examiner Course(TRE/SFE)

Our Type Rating Instructor (TRI) courses and Type Rating Examiner (TRE) courses address pilots aspiring to become instructors or examiners for the specific aircraft type for which they hold a type rating.
We offer the option to complete this course as a Synthetic Flight Instructor or Examiner (SFI/SFE) course.

Type Rating Instructor (TRI) and Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) Course Overview

The TRI training is divided into 3 phases:

Teaching and learning
Technical training
FFS training

Teaching and Learning Phase

The teaching and learning course provides pedagogical methods to develop appropriate teaching and learning skills. The goal is to improve your ability to train and develop trainees’ general aviation knowledge.
This includes detecting trainee weaknesses, performing relevant assessments, and accounting for all human factors to bring them to proficiency.

Technical Training Phase

The technical training phase emphasizes briefing and debriefing techniques and content. Following a theoretical learning module, you will take on the role of an SFI/TRI, conducting briefings and debriefings with your instructor who will act as the trainee.

FFS Training Phase

The practical training on full-flight simulators is specific to each aircraft type. During these practical sessions, you will conduct the entire session from briefing to debriefing. The number of full-flight simulator sessions depends on your experience.

Assessment of Competence (AoC)

The AoC session is the final TRI/SFI check. It is based on a specific session of the type rating syllabus and includes briefing, FFS session, and debriefing. The AoC is conducted under the responsibility of a Type Rating Examiner (TRE).

Type Rating Examiner (TRE) and Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE) Course Overview

The standardization course objective is to train TRE/SFE candidates to be able to conduct:
Skill tests for the initial issue of a specific aircraft type rating.
Proficiency check for revalidation and renewal of type ratings and IRs.
Skill tests for airline transport pilot license (ATPL) (A).
Skill tests for multi-pilot license (MPL).
