Just a few months after commencing operations in Changsha, the Capital city of the Hunan Province in China, Simaero is proud to announce that its first A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator at the Changsha Training Center has been certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This certification, achieved through the strong collaboration between Simaero and China Simulation Sciences Co., Ltd. (CSS), the simulator manufacturer, marks a significant milestone for local aviation training. It is the first device produced by a Chinese training device manufacturer to receive the EASA certification. This accomplishment underscores Simaero’s commitment to working closely with local aviation partners to advance pilot training in the country and establish the Changsha training center as a premier destination for local and international pilot training.
After successfully obtaining certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in January 2024, Simaero’s Airbus A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator is now certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This simulator, housed in Simaero’s brand new training center in Changsha, is the first in the Hunan Province to receive both CAAC and EASA certifications. This dual certification places the simulator among a select group of devices in China that meet the rigorous standards of these two authorities.
Additionally, this achievement marks the first time a training device manufactured by a Chinese manufacturer, China Simulation Sciences Co., Ltd. (CSS), part of the Juneayo Group, has been certified by the EASA. Focused on technological innovation and led by internationally experienced engineers, CSS manufactures full-flight simulators with integrated world-class technological solutions such as the MOOG motion system and Rockwell Collins or RSI visuals.
Simaero successfully brought its organizational system and 22 years of experience in simulator operations and maintenance to the Changsha training center and closely collaborated with CSS for several months to ensure that the simulator’s features and documentation met the demanding standards set by the EASA.
“This certification reflects our team’s remarkable ability to meet ambitious goals and lead the way in pilot training excellence through effective collaboration with both the manufacturer and authorities,” said Nicolas Mouté, CEO of Simaero. “It exemplifies the great synergy between our European and Chinese teams, enabling us to achieve unique results.”
The newly EASA Level D certified Airbus A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator is equipped with the latest technology and additional capabilities, providing a pilot training experience that meets the highest industry standards. Simaero aims to maintain a reliability ratio of at least 99% for the simulator, ensuring a seamless experience.
With EASA certification now in place and plans to integrate the simulator into its EASA ATO certificate, Simaero will be able to offer a conveniently located and comprehensive range of training solutions to carriers from Southeast Asia and beyond, strengthening the Changsha training center’s status as a premier destination for pilot training.
This Airbus A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator is the first training device of Changsha’s six-bay training center and the first device financed through the latest asset leasing joint venture between Simaero and its longstanding Chinese partner, HNCA. The successful installation, certification, and commencement of operations are good omens for the simulator leases that are already planned for China and other Simaero training centers worldwide.
